Charleston is a lovely city, with views of the river, nearby beaches, old buildings, great food, and even better weather. Basically, all you can wish for in a weekend trip.

How technology changes or Letting go of things that really shouldn’t bother you right now

I have a very vivid memory of downloading the new version of Netscape Navigator in 1994. I do not remember which version it was (although I think it was 3.0), but it was a – at the time – mammoth 15 Mb. In order to download that frightful amount of data, I left the computer on and connected (on a time limited dial up line) for a whole night. In order to down­load that fright­ful amount of data, I left the com­puter on and con­nected (on a time lim­ited dial up line) for a whole night. My plan suc­ceed to per­fec­tion, since I checked the com­puter the next morn­ing just in time to wit­ness the down­load reach­ing 99%. Continue reading
